A sensor captures network packets using its monitoring interface. Intrusion Detection System (IDS) Consists of
- Exterior sensors & interior sensors.
Exterior sensors are those used in an outdoor environment. - Interior sensors are those used inside buildings.
Some of these sensors are wired whereas some are wireless.
Hooter
Hooter is the device, which creates audible signals in the form of an alarm to alert/evacuate people. The hooter gets triggered when the panel sends signals to the hooter in case of a fire.
